Oh sorry.
Well, I‘ve no idea where I'll spend my birthday. I think I‘ll be on Bali, but as I said, not to sure about that.

A warm (34°C at 11:00 AM) from Don Det, Laos
Thanks for reading my blog and for your kind advices. I always try to be as polite and respectful as possible. I guess that's the only ways to make friends and have a good time while traveling.

I stopped going nuts trying to keep my laptop safe. I do care about my phone, creditcard and passport! Neverless I alwalys kept those things in a locker and locked it with my own locker. Every hostel I stayed at had lockers. Furthermore I have a Pacsafe Travelsafe 5lt. That thing allows me to attach the bag with my valuables to a bed or a pole - just in case they wouldn't provide lockers or the place just looks dodgy.

On a bus I always have a small Jutebeutel with my gadgets (wrapped around my arm) and then a money belt with my passwort and money around my belly. For me it worked well so far.

They have big 20lt watertanks where you can refill your bottles or just buy new 0.5lt or 1.5lt waterbottles. They sell them everywhere!

I had a traveler-soap for body and hair. Only downside - you have to let it dry and that can take forever. So after a while I really just wanted a normal douche.

The only post address I do have is Domi's one. That is my official address.
But, I won't be in Switzerland around my brithday. My first short layover will be next year - probably.

Greetings from Don Det, Laos

Hi OJ
I love your blogs- you’re a natural traveller ;-)
be open, have respect, share, be grateful, say please & thank you like you did in Kindergarten = happy travelling & contentment.

How do you keep your laptop safe? Where do you keep your phone, passport, credit cards whilst showering or when sleeping on busses?
I fell asleep in a train from Ostende to Münich 40 years ago and my (very little) cash was gone. I neither saw nor heard anything! We used travellers Cheques in those days, they were not stolen.
Is it easy to find reliable drinking water on the islands or do you need to buy bottles? Douche is heavy, try a lather cream bar - looks like a bar of soap so no-one will take it.
Lastly, do you have a post office address where you could collect a parcel on the 24. August?
Lol Mum x
